Oregon Picks up New Predictions to Land Highly-Coveted Safety
The Oregon Ducks could be on the verge of landing a big commitment.
On Friday morning, the Ducks received numerous 247Sports crystal ball predictions to land 2024 safety Aaron Flowers out of Forney, Texas.
The crystal ball picks had previously favored the USC Trojans, but all four predictions are now for the Ducks, with the most notable prediction coming from 247Sports Director of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong Friday morning.
Flowers is a 6-foot-1, 185-pound safety. He's rated a four-star (0.9397) recruit on the 247Sports Composite. He's ranked the No. 133 player nationally, the No. 10 safety and the No. 24 recruit in Texas.
The Texas standout was offered by new Oregon safeties coach Chris Hampton on January 17 and visited Eugene in March. On that same trip out West he visited the USC Trojans, who are believed to be the main competition in recruitment.
He also took visits to Arkansas and Alabama in the month of March.
A commitment from Flowers would make him the third highest-rated commit in Oregon's 2024 class and the first defensive back to pledge to Dan Lanning this cycle. Oregon's class would move from No. 18 to No. 11 according to the 247Sports Class Calculator.
Flowers has felt like a priority in Eugene ever since the Ducks offered.
"They showed that they really want me and I'm one of their top guys on the board for sure," he told Ducks Digest before his Oregon visit. "They keep telling me that over and over again. They just want me to be a star of their class and just keep it going and keep it ranked high.
He's set to announce his college commitment on Friday at approximately 2 pm PT on the Rivals YouTube channel.
