Two Penn State Basketball Stars Headed to NBA Draft Combine

Jalen Pickett and Seth Lundy will represent the Lions at the NBA combine in Chicago.

Jalen Pickett and Seth Lundy, who guided Penn State to its first NCAA Tournament win in 22 years, will participate in the 2023 NBA Draft Combine. Pickett and Lundy will be among 78 draft-eligible players at the combine, scheduled for May 18-21 in Chicago.

Pickett and Lundy propelled the Lions to a fabulous March, during which they won five straight games, reached the Big Ten Tournament final and defeated Texas A&M in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Both players were named All-Big Ten, while Pickett earned consensus All-America honors.

This marks the first NBA Draft Combine to which two Penn State players are invited. Just three Lions have participated in the combine: Jarrett Stephens (2001), Tony Carr (2018) and Lamar Stevens (2020). If Pickett and Lundy are drafted, it also would mark the first time two Penn State players were selected in the same draft.

Pickett became the first Division I men's player in at least 30 years to average 17 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists while shooting 50 percent from the field. He ranked among the nation's top 15 players in assists and assist-to-turnover ratio and set Penn State's single-season assists record (243).

Lundy finished second in the Big Ten, to teammate Andrew Funk, in 3-point shooting percentage (40 percent) and averaged a career-high 14.2 points per game. He ranks sixth in Penn State history in career 3-pointers (229).
