PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers will travel to Evanston, Illinois this coming season to play Northwestern as part of the 2022 ACC-Big 10 Challenge. This is the second time that the Panthers will face the Wildcats in this annual event.

Pitt owns a 4-4 record in ACC-Big 10 Challenge games, including a 2-2 mark under current head coach Jeff Capel. The Panthers fell 54-53 to Minnesota at the Petersen Events Center in the 2021 edition of the Challenge. The Gophers' won on a last-second put-back by Luke Loewe, who scored his only bucket of the evening with mere seconds remaining.

The Panthers have faced Northwestern in two of the past three seasons. They downed the Wildcats 71-70 at Welsh-Ryan Arena in December 2020 behind 21 points from Xavier Johnson and a furious five-point comeback with just 34 seconds left in the game. They beat Northwestern by double-digits on a neutral court in South Carolina the season prior.

Pitt is 5-6 vs. the Big 10 overall since joining the ACC prior to the 2013 season.
