PITTSBURGH -- Another former Pitt Panther will be playing in the NBA Summer League this month, looking to earn a spot on a professional roster.

Mouhamadou Gueye used his one, massively successful season with the Panthers to launch a career in professional basketball and now, he will get a chance to show what he's made of playing against some of the best young talent the NBA has to offer. Gueye has earned a spot on the Toronto Raptors Summer League roster. He'll wear No. 15 in his first NBA action.

Gueye has spent his time away from Pitt in the G League. He's played for the Texas Legends, an affiliate of the Dallas Mavericks. He averaged nine points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game while making 55.9% of his field goals over 11 appearances last season.

Gueye enjoyed a decorated two-year career at Stony Brook, where he earned a reputation as an all-league defender. At Pitt, he added a diverse offensive game to his defensive pedigree, averaging 9.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per night while knocking down 36% of his 3-point shots over a career-high 29 minutes per game.

He and the Raptors will play in four games over a one-week span from July 7 to 14 at the Cox Pavillion and Thomas & Mack Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. There will also be a four-team, single-elimination playoff tournament on July 16 and 17. Teams who do not make the playoffs will play a fifth game on either July 15 or 16.

The Raptors open play on July 7 against the Chicago Bulls at 6:30 pm.
