PITTSBURGH -- Former Pittsburgh Panthers guard Ithiel Horton entered the transfer portal on March 23 and now he has a new home. The sharpshooting Horton announced on Friday via his Instagram that he has committed to UCF.

Horton played just 26 games over three years with the Panthers after transferring in from Deleware following his freshman season. He had to sit for one year due to NCAA transfer rules and was suspended for most of the 2021-22 campaign after he was arrested last November for allegedly hitting a police officer. On January 26, Horton's aggravated assault and resisting arrest charges were dropped and reduced to two counts of disorderly conduct and one count of public intoxication and he returned to action soon after.

When he did play, Horton was a key part of the Pitt rotation. He averaged 9.2 points and 1.5 assists while shooting 37% from three in 28 minutes per game. He'll bring experience and a deadly jump shot to the Knights' roster. He will likely need to apply for a waiver to play immediately, given that this is his second transfer.
