Louisville Loses Star RB Against Pitt

Jawhar Jordan will not play in the second half against the Pitt Panthers.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers will have one less weapon to contend with in the second half as Jawhar Jordan, the Louisville Cardinals' and the ACC's leading rusher, will be held out of the second half with a hamstring injury.

Louisville head coach Jeff Brohm made the surprising announcement prior to kickoff that No. 14 Louisville would not have Jordan at all in this game. He played one series against Pitt but did not see the field again and Brohm said at halftime that he would "probably not" play the rest of the game.

Jordan leads the ACC with 653 rushing yards over six games. He's also scored nine total touchdowns this year, seven of which he covered more than 20 yards to score.

The Cardinals have leaned on Issac Gurrendo (11 carries for 34 yards in the first half) and Maurice Turner (four rushes for 52 yards) without Jordan in the lineup.
