Pitt Puts WR on Scholarship

The Pitt Panthers have a new scholarship receiver.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers had one more scholarship to handout on the final day of training camp and they chose to give it to a redshirt junior receiver.

Jake McConnachie, who is entering his third year with the Panthers, learned this week that he had earned a scholarship. Head coach Pat Narduzzi made the announcement at Acrisure Stadium.

McConnachie has impressed coaches through spring ball and summer training camp with his blocking and reliable hands. He's in the mix to make an impact at receiver this season alongside the four incoming freshmen and Florida transfer Daejon Reynolds. In the Spring Game last April, his 24-yard reception was the longest of the game.

McConnachie joined Pitt as a walk-on in 2020 and did not appear in a game until 2022, when he made four appearances as a special teamer.
