PITTSBURGH -- With college football enjoying a relative lull during the month of July, programs around the country are taking some time to rest before the season begins in August. But those who cover the sport are still looking for ways to quantify and rank those who play and coach it, and that led 247Sports' Brandon Marcello to create an All-ACC Coaching Staff that included three Pitt Panthers assistants.

Pitt special teams coordinator Andre Powell, tight ends coach Tim Salem and defensive line coach Charlie Partridge all landed on Marcello's second team at their respective positions.

The selections were made with some objective measurements involved, Marcello used Matrix Analytical Solutions' Coach Rating Index, which quantifies coaching performances on a scale of 10-100 based on how they recruit and develop players, to create the teams.

Powell graded out as a 75.98 with a four-star rating, Salem as a 67.37 with a 3.5-star rating and Partridge as a 78.36 with a four-star rating.

Miami led the way with five selections to the All-ACC Coaching Staff, led by linebackers coach Derek Nicholson, their lone first-team selection. Clemson took second with four selections, including first-team head coach Dabo Swinney, a somewhat obvious choice as the only coach to win a national championship at their current school.

Pitt tied Lousiville, NC State and North Carolina for third with three selections each. The Tar Heels landed all three of their selections - offensive line coach Randy Clements, running backs coach Larry Potter and recievers coach Lonnie Galloway - on the first team. First-year Cardinals head coach Jeff Brohm was both the second team head coach and offensive coordinator. Wolfpack defensive line coach Charley Wiles made the first team.

Florida State, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Syracuse tied for fourth and rounded out the two teams with one selection each.
