PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers will soon know if they've landed the commitment of a blue-chip local prospect.

Alier Maluk, a top-100 junior and Pittsburgh native who plays his high school ball at Imani Christian, announced this week that he will commit on Friday and choose between the schools listed in a top five he released last week - Pitt, Florida State, LSU, Oregon and Ohio State.

Maluk is one of the best prospects in the state of Pennsylvania and the country for the class of 2025. He is unanimously considered a four-star prospect and top-100 player in the class by the four major recruiting services. He is ranked as high as the No. 2 player in the state and No. 7 center (247Sports, ESPN) in his class.

He holds other offers from West Virginia, NC State, Seton Hall, Texas A&M, Aurbun, Penn State, Vanderbilt, Maryland and Washington.

Maluk has taken just one official visit during his recruitment to Florida State but has spent time on campus at Pitt as well.
