PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers have added a new non-conference game to their 2026 schedule, according to a report from FBSchedules.com

They reported that Pitt will host the Miami (OH) Redhawks in what will likely be the season opener on Labor Day Weekend in 2026. The Panthers will pay Miami $1.1 million to make the short trip east to Acrisure Stadium. This game was supposed to be played in 2020 but was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Pitt now has two confirmed games on their 2026 slate - this home contest against the Redhawks and a trip to Madison, Wisconsin to take on the Wisconsin Badgers at Camp Randall Stadium two weeks later.

This series, which consists of just two games, hasn't been played since 1949. Pitt has won both games, downing the Redhawks 61-0 in 1931 and 35-26 18 years later.
