Pitt Reveals New Alternate Uniforms
PITTSBURGH -- They've been teased going back years through cryptic messages on social media and in recruiting photo shoots but the Pitt Panthers have officially revealed their new alternate uniforms.
The latest alteration to Pitt's uniforms feature white from head to toe - a white helmet with a white facemask, white jerseys with blue lettering accented by yellow, white pants, white socks and white shoes. They will debut this look this weekend when they face Wake Forest at Allegacy Stadium in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Head coach Pat Narduzzi said in an exclusive interview with OutKick's Anthony Farris last summer that the team would have new uniforms soon. He didn't promise major changes, but said to expect some new twists.
“We didn’t have those when I first got here, but they’re awesome," Narduzzi said. "It’s been great to get those colors back to where they’re supposed to be. And we’ll add some more flavors (of the uniform) in the next couple of years. But they certainly are nice to look at…And I wouldn’t resign if they changed the uniforms, that wouldn’t be real smart. But put it this way – I would not be real happy if someone came in and said we’re going to go back to some other colors. Wouldn’t be too happy.“
The last time the Panthers wore an alternate uniform was October of 2020, when they were crushed, 45-3 by College Football Playoff-bound Notre Dame at then-Heinz Field while wearing the gray "Steel Panther" threads.
Pitt will hope to have better luck in these white digs as they head down south to face the Demon Deacons on their turf.
