PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers will host a big-time athlete on campus this weekend as they continue to roll out the red carpet for official visitors during the crucial month of June.

Cameron Monteiro, a 6'3 and 180-pound athlete from Massachusetts, will visit the Panthers from June 8-10, he announced on Twitter. The multi-positional player is being recruited by receivers coach Tiquan Underwood and tight ends coach Tim Salem, meaning the coaching staff likely views him as a pass-catcher at the college level.

Over his three seasons at Brockton High School in Brockton, Massachusetts, Monteiro has played all over the field as a quarterback, running back, wide receiver and cornerback.

He accounted for 1,550 total yards and 18 total touchdowns in nine games during his senior season, earning all-state honors in Massachusetts' Division I as a receiver. Monteiro is a two-sport athlete in basketball as well and earned All-Scholastics honors from the Boston Herald after averaging 16 points, seven rebounds and five assists per game.

Monteiro holds offers from Kentucky, Virginia, Boston College, Virginia Tech, Vanderbilt, Old Dominion and Buffalo, in addition to Pitt. He is rated as high as the No. 3 player in his state and the No. 113 receiver in the class of 2024 (247Sports).
