Three-Star S Will Take Official Visit to Pitt
PITTSBURGH -- A three-star defensive back will make the trip up from Florida to visit the Pitt Panthers this summer.
Jalon Thompson, a native of Orlando, Florida who attends Olympia High School, announced on Twitter that he would take his official visit to Pitt from June 22-24, becoming the 12th prospect who will be on campus that weekend.
Over nine games his senior season, Thompson made 17 tackles and intercepted two passes while also chipping in a punt return for a touchdown. The 6'0 and 180-pound prospect is also a track athlete and recorded a personal record of 10.79 seconds in the 100-meter dash last week.
Thompson is ranked as high as the No. 67 prospect in Florida (On3) and the No. 42 safety in the class of 2024 (ESPN). He also has visits to UCF and North Carolina on the docket and has already taken a trip to Arizona. Penn State, Ole Miss, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Colorado, Nebraska, Purdue, Cincinnati, Minnesota, Rutgers, Iowa State, Vanderbilt, Kansas, West Virginia, Missouri and others have also extended offers.
