PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers are among the finalists for an elite prospect that hails from right in their own backyard. Royce Parham, a four-star power forward from North Hills High School in Pittsburgh, has top four that includes Pitt, according to a report from On3 recruiting insider Joe Tipton.

Parham will choose between Pitt, Marquette, Penn State and Xavier. He trimmed an offer sheet that was 13 schools long to those four. The 6'9, 200-pound prospect said staying local is important to him.

“Being a local schools, its always been important to me," Parham told On.3 about Pitt. "I’ve been up to some of their games and have a good bond with the coaches.”

The Panthers already have a verbal commitment from one player in the class of 2024, three-star combo guard Brandin Cummings. Cummings, one of the stars of Lincoln High School's state championship squad alongside five-star prospect Meleek Thomas, is the younger brother of Nelly Cummings, who started all season at point guard for this year's Pitt team.
