PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers have been busy thinking about the future recently, contacting a host of 2025 prospects as soon as the early summer recruiting dead period ended last week.

Add a new name to the list of players the Panthers are interested in because the coaching staff reached out to 2025 point guard Jordan Lowrey of Guyer High School in Denton, Texas early this week. 19 schools have reached out since the end of the dead period, including UCLA, Virginia Tech, Missouri, Wake Forest, SMU, LSU, Oklahoma, NC State, Texas A&M, Boston College, South Florida, Memphis, Clemson, Tennessee, North Texas, Boise State and George Mason.

Lowrey is rated as a four-star prospect by Rivals and ESPN, while On3 has him pegged as a three-star recruit. ESPN ranked him the No. 18 point guard in the class of 2025, Rivals has him as the No. 66 overall prospect and On3 considerers Lowrey the No. 8 player in his state, No. 14 point guard and No. 76 overall prospect in the class.

He holds offers from Kansas State, Oklahoma State and St. Louis. He took unofficial visits to LSU and Texas Tech last fall.

Lowrey is a quick decision-maker who demonstrates good vision, passing ability and defensive skills on tape. He earned First-Team All-District, All-Area Defensive Player of the Year and First-Team All-Area honors following an impressive sophomore campaign for the Guyer Wildcats.
