PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers will get a final decision from a coveted defensive lineman early next month, he announced on Twitter this week.

Elias Rudolph, a four-star defensive end from Deerfield Beach, Florida, said he will make his college decision on July 3rd at his high school and with his decision nearing, will not make the trip out to see Ohio State this month. Pitt is among the contenders to land his commitment.

Pitt made Rudolph's top five in May and earned a visit from the blue-chip defensive end in early June. He also visited Penn State and Michigan, who made his list of finalists alongside Ohio State and Cincinnati.

Rudolph held offers from Florida State, Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia, Arkansas, Texas A&M, Iowa, Purdue, Michigan State, Georgia Tech, Boston College, West Virginia and others that he spurned for those five finalists.

Rudolph, a 6'3 and 200-pound backer, is ranked as high as the No. 4 player in the talent-rich Sunshine State (Rivals) and No. 15 linebacker (247Sports). ESPN ranks them as high as the No. 150 player in the country.
