PITTSBURGH -- The first weekend of official visits in 2022 proved fruitful for the Pitt Panthers, who added six new verbal commitments to its 2023 class on Friday and Saturday. Those six verbals are the most earned by any school in the Power Five and second nationally to Cincinnati, who pulled in eight, according to John Garcia of SI.com

The Panthers, who entered last weekend with just two commits in the coming class, shot up Rivals' team rankings from No. 78 nationally to No. 22 in a span of 24 hours.

Pat Narduzzi and his staff convinced three-star defenders Antonio Camon, Shelton Lewis, Brice Pollock, Isaiah Neal and Shadarian Harrison, in addition to receiver Kenny Johnson, the No. 15 player in Pennsylvania according to 247Sports. They join four-star quarterback Kenny Minchey and three-star receiver Zion Fowler in the now eight-man strong class that sits at third in 247Sports' 2023 ACC recruiting rankings.
