PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers have had a busy spring on the recruiting trail, trying to cover for the eight departures from last season's team. They've mostly done that, hitting the transfer portal hard and picking up a pair of under-the-radar high school prospects. On Friday night, the Panthers made another addition, this time from the junior college ranks.

Cashius McNeilly, who visited the Panthers last week, announced on Saturday via Twitter that he had committed to the Panthers. The former 2019 three-star recruit began his career at Texas A&M before moving to TCU and then Northern Oklahoma Community College, where he averaged 10 points per game.

McNeilly was previously committed to Maryland but recommitted when Terrapins head coach Mark Turgeon resigned. He joins former Northern Oklahoma teammate Fede Federiko, who committed to the Panthers in April.

It's unclear how many years of eligibility he has left but McNeilly will still take up Pitt's 12th scholarship. They have one more left to use for this coming season.
