PITTSBURGH -- Almost immediately after he completed his official visit to see the Pitt Panthers, three-star wideout Cameron Monteiro created a top three and set a commitment date.

That date was today and Monteiro, out of a list of three finalists that included Pitt, Kentucky and Virginia, chose to play his college ball for the Panthers.

Over his three seasons at Brockton High School in Brockton, Massachusetts, Monteiro has played all over the field as a quarterback, running back, wide receiver and cornerback.

He accounted for 1,550 total yards and 18 total touchdowns in nine games during his senior season, earning all-state honors in Massachusetts' Division I as a receiver. Monteiro is a two-sport athlete in basketball as well and earned All-Scholastics honors from the Boston Herald after averaging 16 points, seven rebounds and five assists per game.

Monteiro picked Pitt over offers from Kentucky, Virginia, Boston College, Virginia Tech, Vanderbilt, Old Dominion and Buffalo, in addition to Pitt. He is rated as high as the No. 3 player in his state and the No. 113 receiver in the class of 2024 (247Sports).

He is the second wideout to commit to the Panthers' class of 2024, joining four-star prospect Ric'Darious Farmer.
