PITTSBURGH -- A four-star running back the Pitt Panthers have been recruiting cut his extensive list of offers down to just eight this week and the good news for Pat Narduzzi and company is that they made the cut. 

DeJuan Williams, a 5'10 and 185-pound tailback from Baltimore, Maryland who attends powerhouse St. Frances Academy, included Pitt in a top eight that also contains Syracuse, Cincinnati, Virginia Tech, Boston College, Maryland, Oregon and Stanford.

247Sports, who ranks Williams as the No. 5 player in Maryland and No. 17 running back in the class of 2024, Rivals and ESPN all consider him a four-star prospect.  Both Rivals and ESPN also have him ranked among the top 10 players in his state and top 25 at his position. 

Williams cut an impressive offer sheet that also included Michigan, Penn State, Ohio State, Duke, Arizona, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, Illinois, Cal and UConn down to those eight.

Stephen Thompson graduated with a bachelor's degree in communications and political science from Pitt in April 2022 after spending four years as a sports writer and editor at The Pitt News, the University of Pittsburgh's independent, student-run newspaper.  He primarily worked the Pitt men's basketball beat, and filled in on coverage of football, volleyball, softball, gymnastics and lacrosse, in addition to other sports as needed.
