PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers continued to stay hot on the recruiting trail, landing a second commitment in as many days from players in the class of 2024. Tayshawn Banks, a cornerback from Ohio, was the latest to join the party. He announced his decision to pick Pitt on Twitter.

Banks is a three-star prospect from Taft High School in Cincinnati. He chose Pitt over the likes of Cincinnati, Michigan, Penn State, Georgia Tech, Purdue, Syracuse, Kentucky and West Virginia. Rivals consider him the No. 37 player in Ohio, while 247Sports pegged him as the No. 37 2024 player in the state.

He is the eighth commit in the class of 2024 for Pitt, joining a class that was already ranked in the top 20 of Rivals' and 247Sports' national team class rankings. The Panthers jumped up to 12th nationally in Rivals' rankings after Banks committed.
