Pitt Commit Jaland Lowe Earns All-State Honors
PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers will be adding one of the best high school players from the state of Texas to their roster this offseason when Houston native Jaland Lowe officially enrolls and joins the team.
At the conclusion of his senior season, Pitt's highest-rated commit, Lowe earned all-state honors and Texas High School Coaches Association Super Elite Basketball Team recognition.
Lowe averaged 27.0 points per game this season while leading Fort Bend Marshall High School to a 35-4 record, a finals appearance in 5A Region 3, and a No. 3 ranking in the state of Texas. He finished his three-year career with the Buffalos with over 2,000 points.
Lowe is also one of the leading candidates for the Guy V. Lewis Award, given annually to the top high school player in the Greater Houston area. The winner will be announced at a reception later this month. Past winners include NBA and college stars like Rasheed Sulaimon, Aaron Harrison, Justin Winslow, De'Aaron Fox and Quinten Grimes.
