LAS VEGAS — The final injury report for Super Bowl LVIII brought good news for SMU football fans. They are generally all-encompassing and, if anything, at times create headlines for whatever reason.

After being limited in Thursday’s practice, Chiefs’ rookie receiver Rashee Rice was a full participant in Friday’s final practice and will be fully available for Super Bowl LVIII. Kansas City coach Andy Reid had said earlier this week Rice had his ankle stepped on during Wednesday’s practice and was confident Rice would be ready for Sunday’s game. Rice had received treatment for the injury, which is why he landed on this week’s injury report.

Rice Brings 'Don't Be Soft' Mentality from SMU to Kansas City

Rice’s availability is critical for the Chiefs. The second round rookie from SMU emerged from a group of struggling receivers to become a top receiving option for Patrick Mahomes. Rice had 79 catches for 938 yards and a team-high seven touchdowns during the regular season. In the Chiefs’ three playoff games, Rice has caught 20 passes for 223 yards and a touchdown. Only tight end Travis Kelce has a better receiving stat line for Kansas City in the playoffs.

Super Bowl LVIII between the Chiefs and 49ers will be televised live from Las Vegas on CBS and fuboTV. San Francisco comes into the game a very slim favorite in many of the betting lines available for the game that will be heavily used.
