On Saturday, the fifteen player list for the John R. Wooden Award was released with South Carolina's Aliyah Boston listed as one of the headliners. Boston won the Wooden Award last year, and became the second player from South Carolina history to win the award.

Having another dominant year, averaging 13.3 points 9.7 rebounds and 2.1 blocks on 57.3 shooting percentage, the senior forward has presented herself with the opportunity to be one of the few women athletes to ever win the hallowed award in consecutive years.

It can easily be said that Boston is the most dominant force in women's college basketball as she has led the Gamecocks to a 32-0 record, and likely, a No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA tournament. This is all even more impressive when considering the fact that she tends to draw constant double team and some times triple teams upon the catch of the ball on the low block. This focus from opposing teams defenses doesn't slow Aliyah on the other end of the floor, as Boston still defends multiple positions and rebounds the ball at a high level.

Voting will take place from March 14-21, and the last group of finalists for the award will be revealed on March 29.

Here is the ballot:

  • Aliyah Boston, South Carolina
  • Cameron Brink, Stanford
  • Caitlin Clark, Iowa
  • Aaliyah Edwards, Connecticut
  • Mackenzie Holmes, Indiana
  • Ashley Joens, Iowa State
  • Haley Jones, Stanford
  • Elizabeth Kitley, Virginia Tech
  • Ta’Niya Latson, Florida State
  • Olivia Miles, Notre Dame
  • Diamond Miller, Maryland
  • Aneesah Morrow, DePaul
  • Alissa Pili, Utah
  • Maddy Siegrist, Villanova
  • Hailey Van Lith, Louisville
