Juice Wells' Injury "Healing Really Well", Remains Doubtful For Florida Game

Coming off the heels of their week seven bye week, South Carolina's Football team is healthier, but one key playmaker is likely to miss more time.

Injuries are a part of football and can play a critical role in how a season unfolds for a certain team. While certainly, it's never good to see anyone go down due to injury, here are three different components that can be factored in when determining the severity of an injury: what position group suffers the injury, the type of injury, and when the injury is suffered.

For South Carolina star WR Antwane "Juice" Wells, little has gone his way since he missed a substantial amount of time due to a lower-body injury back in preseason camp. After making a start against the No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs, and helping the Gamecocks march down the field for a touchdown on their first offensive drive of the game, Juice had to leave the game and has been MIA since then.

Based on what Shane Beamer during his weekly Tuesday press conference with the media, however, it appears Juice is progressing well from his recent injury, and while unlikely, the door isn't completely shut on him playing as early as this week.

"Juice [Wells] is doubtful for this week," Beamer stated. "Met with the specialist this morning up in Charlotte - The injury is really healing well. On the fast track from a healing process. Certainly don't want to put Juice out there before he's ready and don't want Juice going out there without the right mindset as well. Will be a week-to-week thing."

Turning the page over to the M.A.S.H unit that's become South Carolina's offensive line, Cason Henry won't be playing this week, but is "getting closer to being able to play, hopefully by the end of the month," per Beamer. On defense, the only limitation of note last week was [David] Spaulding, who dealt with a wrist, but practiced today and was fine according to Shane.
