Josh Vann Signs An UDFA Deal With The Carolina Panthers
An impact player for the Gamecocks will be staying home, as Josh Vann signed an UDFA deal with the Carolina Panthers late Saturday night. He will be competing for a spot on the Panthers' roster, with Carolina looking for playmakers that can help quarterback Bryce Young, who they picked No. 1 overall this weekend in the NFL draft
Josh will be in a receiver room that features former Gamecocks Shi Smith, and Damiere Byrd. Panther fans can expect a lot of big plays out of Josh Vann, who averaged 16.4 yards after the catch this past year for the Gamecocks. Josh was hurt for most of the season this pas year, which kept him from making a huge impact for the Gamecocks. He was entering the year as a projected 4th Round pick and the top wide receiver for the Gamecocks who led the team in receiving yards the year prior.
Coming in as a big-time recruit picking the Gamecocks over schools like Alabama and Georgia, Josh ended his college career with 108 catches 1,352 yards and 10 receiving touchdowns and 1,425 all-purpose yards for South Carolina. Josh will hope to have the same success in the NFL with the Carolina Panthers, no matter what role he has on the team.
