From 2013 to 2023, the Gamecocks have seen ups and downs, experimented with multiple strategies, and produced some noteworthy players, all while demonstrating an ever-evolving offensive approach to the game.

It started promising; The decade began on a high note. Under the leadership of then-head coach Steve Spurrier, the Gamecocks posted impressive offensive numbers. In 2013, the team averaged around 30 points per game. The passing game was robust, with Connor Shaw and Dylan Thompson combining for over 3200 yards and 28 touchdowns. The rushing attack was equally potent, led by Mike Davis, who racked up over 1,100 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Following Spurrier's retirement in 2015, the Gamecocks entered a transition phase under new head coach Will Muschamp. The team struggled to maintain its earlier offensive prowess, with an average of fewer than 25 points per game over Muschamp's tenure. The quarterback position was a revolving door during these years, with multiple changes at the helm. Despite the struggles, there were bright spots, including wide receiver Deebo Samuel, who emerged as one of the SEC's top playmakers while in Columbia.

After the 2020 season, Muschamp was replaced with Shane Beamer, marking the beginning of a new era for the Gamecocks. The most recent years have seen a resurgence in the Gamecocks' offensive prowess.
