BREAKING: South Carolina Parts Ways With RB Coach Montario Hardesty
When a team goes 5-7 in year three of the current head coach's tenure, a clear down year compared to the first two seasons, it will inherently cause many in the fanbase to wonder if changes are coming to the staff. While it took a while for anything to come out, it appears that Shane Beamer is indeed making changes in Columbia.
It was reported by TheBigSpur.com on Wednesday afternoon that South Carolina is parting ways with running backs coach Montario Hardesty, a coach who was a part of Beamer's inaugural staff in Columbia.
Hardesty was previously the wide receivers coach at Charlotte from 2019-2020, and before then was an offensive quality control coach at his alma mater, Tennessee, in 2018. Montario helped the Gamecocks land four-star RB Dontavious Braswell and three-star RB Matthew Fuller in the 2023 and 2024 high school recruiting cycles respectively. He also played a role in the development of the Gamecocks leading rusher last season in Mario Anderson Jr.
