Early Betting Odds: South Carolina vs. Florida
The bye week has officially concluded for Shane Beamer and the South Carolina Gamecocks, marking essentially the beginning of the second half of their season and an important stretch against the Florida Gators, Missouri Tigers, and Texas A&M Aggies, who have a combined record of 13-5. That stretch, as mentioned above, starts with a matchup against Billy Napier's Gators that Beamer and the Gamecocks will be looking to win for two reasons: it would help them on their path to bowl eligibility, and it's a revenge game in Williams-Brice Stadium.
While South Carolina, unfortunately, won't be getting a night game for the first time since they took on Missouri in Week 9 back in the 2022 season, there's no question that the Gamecock faithful, and the energy they bring, will be there. Especially this year, having that home-field advantage in a conference matchup is a big deal, and the oddsmakers from several betting companies agree with that sentiment in this game.:
FanDuel: South Carolina is a 2.5-point favorite over Florida
Draft Kings: South Carolina is a 1-point favorite over Florida
SportsLine: South Carolina is a 2-point favorite over Florida
Football betting experts typically say that having home-field advantage is worth 3 points in the eyes of oddsmakers, which, based on the spreads mentioned above, means they view the Gamecocks and the Gators as two evenly-matched teams. We shall see if that opinion holds as this week progresses.
