Spencer Rattler Talks 'Amazing' Pro Day
Former South Carolina football star Spencer Rattler went through Pro Day and Tuesday and discussed it with the media afterward.
On Tuesday morning, former South Carolina quarterback Spencer Rattler and several others went through their Pro Day in front of scouts from several NFL franchises, allowing them one last time to show teams what they have to offer in terms of athletic and position-specific traits before the NFL Draft in late April. Rattler, of course, was the headliner of the group, with practically every eye in the Steve and Jerri Spurrier Indoor Practice Facility trained on him at the end of the festivities.
When Spencer's workout ended, he was made available to the media for a few minutes, where he was first asked how he felt things went today.
"Went amazing. This whole process has been fun; it's been long, [and] it's been a grind, but couldn't ask for anything else. Just tryna take advantage of every opportunity, and I feel like I'm doing that."
While the day was one of a serious tone for Rattler and the other guys going through drills, it was likely also a sentimental one, with it being the last time this group of players will go through a practice or game-like setting.
"It was awesome. They did a great job today; ran great routes, caught great balls," Spencer said. "We were grinding all week, so credit to them. Today was fun."
Having gone through an all-star game, the NFL Combine and South Carolina's Pro Day in the past six weeks, Rattler feels that he's learned a lot about his own ability to adjust.
"I can adapt to any environment. Senior Bowl, Combine. I don't back down from many challenges. I haven't really learned anything. I'm just kinda applying what I know and just going out there and competing. Ready to roll."
When asked what an NFL team will get when they draft him, Spencer made it clear that they're getting a quarterback who's well-rounded.
"An elite guy. A guy that's very knowledgeable within [the game of] football. Been in three different offenses, two different conferences. Proven player. Very accurate passer. Fast learner. Quick Processor. A guy that can create and extend [plays], and make others around him better, and mainly getting a leader. A guy that's on time, shows his work ethic, puts [the work] in everyday."
