Report: Travian Robertson Set To Be Hired As Gamecocks' New DT Coach
South Carolina's Football program lost just their second on-field assistant coach of the offseason this past Friday, when their interior defensive line coach Jimmy Lindsey was hired by the LSU Tigers. When this move occurred, one name that trickled throughout Columbia and was discussed amongst the fanbase was Travian Robertson, a former Gamecock standout who would check off multiple boxes if Shane Beamer decided to make the move.
It appears as if the fans will indeed get their wish, as it was reported by GamecockCentral's Chris Clark late on Sunday night that Travian Robertson, barring any logistical issues with his contract, is expected to be hired within the coming days by South Carolina.
Robertson played at South Carolina between 2007 and 2011, being a team captain his senior season and then playing in the NFL for three seasons. He began his coaching career back in 2017 with Georgia State as a defensive graduate assistant, and was recently the defensive line coach for the Tulane Green Wave.
