ICYMI: Xavier Legette Makes Two Midseason All-Star Teams
One of the best stories of the 2023 season for South Carolina has been the performance of wide receiver Xavier Legette. After recording just 42 receptions for 423 receiving yards and five touchdowns in his first four years in Columbia, the South Carolina native has become one of the best wide receivers in the country this Fall, compiling a season stat line of 32 catches, 606 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns.
Legette's emergence as a legit No. 1 wide receiver in the SEC has caught the attention of multiple scouts and NFL draft analysts, who think that Xavier's stock has skyrocketed throughout the season. This notion was backed up on Wednesday with Xavier's inclusion on two different midseason all-star lists: the Reese's Senior Bowl Midseason All-American Team and the Pro Football Focus Midseason College Football All-Prospect Team.
If Legette can continue to string together the kind of performances he's had through the first five weeks of the season, there's no telling where these experts will have him slotted come training season for the 2024 NFL Draft.
