Aaron Gregory Shares Thoughts On 2026 Gamecock QB Commit Landon Duckworth
After the recent commitment from top 2026 quarterback Landon Duckworth (Jackson, AL), GamecocksDigest caught up with fellow 2026 recruit Aaron Gregory to get his opinion on Duckworth's early commitment. Immediately recalling his name upon hearing it, Gregory stated: " That's the quarterback that's like 6'4 right," he said. Proceeding with that question, we asked Gregory what he thought about his commitment.
"I've seen some of his highlights, but I've never played with him," said Gregory. Just the thought of pairing potentially Duckworth and Gregory together in Dowell Loggains' offense would be nothing shy of a show on turf. Gregory is currently ranked as the No. 1 wide receiver in the class of 2026, per On3, and for good reason. The 6-foot-2 route athlete can snap off routes in quick succession and can very well beat you over the top.
However, what ultimately separates Aaron from others is his IQ, knowing when to come back to the ball or cut across the field, keeping the play alive for his quarterback. Combine that with Duckworth's rocket arm and uncanny ability to throw the ball on the run, and you have yourself a big play waiting to happen.
However, upon our conversation with Gregory, he stated that the Gamecocks are mainly recruiting him as a defensive back, but they've had a couple of conversations about playing wideout. So, who knows Gamecocks fans, maybe we'll get the chance to see Gregory play both ways should he wind up in Columbia.
