Recruiting efforts in Columbia have not been without reward this off-season for the Gamecocks. The team has been making significant strides with many recruits in the class of 2024, one of those being WR Zy'marion Lang. The 6-3 receiver, hailing from Palmetto, Florida, is an intriguing prospect. Though many know him for his pass-catching talent, Lang also excels on the other side of that exchange. Lang split his sophomore season at WR and QB, a combo you don't typically see. LangThough his talents may be unusual, they arent useless.

One of the priding joys of the South Carolina team last year was their creativity. On both offense and special teams, the Gamecocks found unique ways to move the ball forward, such as putting now-departed TE Jaheim Bell at running back in certain scenarios. Lang doesn't just bring versatility; he is also a talented receiver.

Though he might not be the heaviest or strongest player on the field, he can get by with his excellent length and speed. Doubling as a track runner, Lang frequently burns defensive backs who can't keep up with his long strides. He works best when given time and space to develop his route and lose his defender.

Lang's final seven is populated by USF, West Virginia, Pitt, South Carolina, Kansas, Kansas State, and Texas A&M. Pitt seemingly stands as the leader for Lang at the moment, Lang will be taking an official visit with South Carolina on the weekend of June 23rd, which will be an excellent opportunity for the team to make up some ground with the sunshine state prospect.
