BREAKING: 2024 OT Mike Williams Decommits From South Carolina
Shane Beamer and South Carolina's football coaching staff have had plenty of good news to this point in the recruiting process and haven't had too many things not go their way. That changed on Tuesday evening, when offensive line commit Mike Williams announced that he was reopening his recruitment and decommitting from the Gamecocks.
Williams had originally committed to the Gamecocks back on April 19th, and was largely viewed as the final piece of the "Great Wall of Carolina" for the offensive line group in the 2024 recruiting class. Mike previously had a Top 8 group that consisted of teams like Tennessee, Miami, Michigan State, Southern Cal' and some other notable Power 5 programs.
Williams as of right now is still scheduled to take an official visit to Columbia the weekend of June 23rd-25th, though it's unclear if that will remain the case with these recent developments in his recruitment.
