Shane Beamer and the Gamecocks coaching staff have already gotten off to a hot start in the 2024 recruiting class, currently touting the No. 6 class in the entire country according to On3's Industry Rankings, which takes the average of all the major recruiting service rankings and averages them out. The third-year head coach would like to keep the current momentum swinging upward, and has his program in the minds of several other national-level prospects, including North Carolina athlete Jonathan Paylor.

Paylor, who's publicly named the Gamecocks his leader on multiple occasions, has been noted as more of an offensive weapon rather than being categorized in one particular position group. Jonathan got a chance to showcase his star-playmaking ability at the Under Armour Next camp in Baltimore, MD this past weekend, and did so to such a degree that he earned a rarely given Under Armour All-America Game invite at the end of camp.

NC State remains South Carolina's biggest competition here, with the Wolfpack having hosted the Hugh M. Cummings product an astonishing eleven times in his recruitment. Jonathan will be taking an official visit to Columbia the weekend of June 23rd-25th, and will also be taking official visits to NC State, Clemson and Maryland in the same month.
