Tennessee S Commit Edrees Farooq Commits To UA All-American Game
Three-star Tennessee safety commit Edrees Farooq is one of the most underrated players in the 2024 class. It feels like "underrated" is becoming cliche, but the term fits when you look at Farooq's measurables. He logs a sub-4.4 40-yard dash with a 39-inch vertical - the guy can move.
Though he's ranked outside the consensus top 500 on several recruiting websites, Farooq continues to gain recognition heading into his senior season. On Sunday, the talented DMV native announced that he is committing to the Under Armour All-American Game, a showcase for the nation's top high school football players. The event's alumni include NFL stars Julio Jones, A.J. Green, Myles Garrett, Kyler Murray, Leonard Fournette, Jameis Winston, Jadeveon Clowney, and more.
Farooq is the First Tennessee defensive back commit to earn all-American status this offseason. Corner commit Kaleb Beasley is an easy candidate to earn it in the next few months - he's a consensus top-150 evaluation and plays for a nationally-ranked Lipscomb Academy squad that is defending two consecutive state championships. Defensive back commit Boo Carter also has a real chance, and if Marcus Goree can continue making steps this year, you could also make a legitimate argument for him.
