The Vols added four-star offensive guard William Satterwhite (Akron, Oh.) to their 2024 class on Thursday. Satterwhite is their fourth offensive line commit, making this a big cycle for offensive line coach Glen Elarbee. He keyed in on Satterwhite early in the process and stayed consistent in his efforts.

In my opinion, Satterwhite is Tennessee's most interesting offensive lineman in the class. He plays right tackle for Archbishop Hoban High School and drew comparisons from the Tennessee coaching staff to Chicago Bears first-round pick Darnell Wright, who played impact snaps at right tackle for four seasons with Tennessee. However, Satterwhite's frame will likely force him to kick inside to guard when he reaches Knoxville. Satterwhite measures 6-3 and 300 pounds, three inches shorter than each of the Vols' starting offensive tackles last season.

Two of Tennessee's starting interior offensive linemen were 6-3 last season, making the Satterwhite a perfect fit for its scheme. He excels at getting depth in his pass sets, giving himself a frame to work with before striking the defender with his hands. Satterwhite punches the defender's shoulder pads and then quickly slaps away their hands at the point of contact. In Tennessee's system, he only has to survive that long before the football is out of his quarterback's hands.

Satterwhite really separates himself in the run game. His athletic profile is outstanding, and Satterwhite routinely frames his blocks correctly. Few high schoolers can square their hips toward the sideline and seal off an alley for their running back. When you block in open space, many offensive linemen get holding calls for not getting around quickly enough. Satterwhite doesn't have this problem - he's quick enough to get around every time.

Tennessee envisions him playing around 325 pounds, and adding that strength should be good for his game. Sometimes Satterwhite isn't as physical as he could be, especially considering his size. Putting on weight should help with his confidence and get him to strike with power - currently, he's primarily blocking with hand placement.

There's definitely a path to early snaps for Satterwhite. He has to put in a lot of work upon his initial arrival on Rocky Top, and Elarbee and the coaching staff were adamant all process that they believe in that potential. Their focus now shifts to four-star offensive tackle Bennett Warren (Sugar Land, Tx.), their No. 1 target on the offensive line board.
