Longhorns Blown Out in 12-2 Vanderbilt Loss: Live Game Log
The Texas Longhorns finish their weekend at the College Baseball Showdown on Sunday morning looking for their first win of the season against the No. 10 Vanderbilt Commodores (1-1).
Texas has lost both of its first two games by one run, a 3-2 loss to Arkansas on Friday and a 6-5 walk off loss to Missouri on Saturday. In both games there have been similar issues, with the offense falling flat and pitching prone to big innings.
Against both Arkansas and Missouri the Longhorns allowed three-run innings, forcing them to play from behind as a result. Ultimately, though, they were unable to pull off a comeback victory in either game as they fell just short both times.
Now, though, they will look to take advantage of a Vanderbilt pitching staff that has allowed 20 runs in two games this weekend to finally wake up the bats. As well, there has been some shakeup in the lineup to end the weekend.
