For the second day in a row, the Cavaliers beat out a rival ACC program to land a key commitment for their 2024 football recruiting class.

Three-star safety KeShawn Adams announced his commitment to Virginia via Instagram live on Saturday afternoon, choosing UVA over finalists Duke, West Virginia, and UConn. Adams also had offers from Syracuse, Rhode Island, Temple, and UMass.

A 6'1", 185-pound safety out of Avon Old Farms in Avon, Connecticut, Adams is ranked the No. 104-safety in the country in the class of 2024 by 247Sports as well as the No. 10 overall recruit in the state of Connecticut and an Adidas All-American.

Virginia offered Adams back in March and he took an official visit to UVA on the first weekend of June. In his own words, his visit was "full of red carpet treatment" and he "felt like a top priority."

Adams sealed the deal with a verbal commitment to Virginia on Saturday, marking the second day in a row that the Cavaliers beat out Duke for a priority recruit. On Friday, three-star wide receiver Triston Ward (Deerfield, MA) announced his commitment to UVA over Duke, Pittsburgh, Boston College, and others. Adams is the fourth defensive back to commit to Virginia's 2024 recruiting class, joining athlete Ethan Minter (Chester, VA), cornerback Jaylin Lackey (Snellville, GA), and safety Cedric Franklin (Marietta, GA).

In his junior season at Avon Old Farms, Adams gave up just one completion while in man coverage on 11 targets. Watch his junior year highlights via Hudl in the video below:
