The last 24 hours for the Los Angeles Angels have been rough and that doesn’t even fully describe it.

Prior to their game on Tuesday against the San Diego Padres, the team learned that star outfielder Mike Trout would be out for an extended period of time to deal with a fractured left hamate. Then in the game, both third baseman Anthony Rendon and two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani left the game early with injuries. Luckily, Ohtani may have caught a break as he is dealing with a blister issue but Rendon may not have been so lucky.

He fouled a ball off his left leg and was forced to leave the game. Rendon walked out of the clubhouse afterwards on crutches and his bad luck with injuries seems to be continuing.

Rendon has already spent time on the injured list this season and just came back a short time ago. His time with the Angels has been injury after injury and like anyone would be, Rendon seems over it all.

"It’s almost comical," Rendson said after the game. "It’s just frustrating. I don’t know what to do. I’m lost."

On the year, Rendon has hit .236 with just two home runs and 22 runs batted in over 43 games played. His season has been filled with bumps in the road and assuming that he goes on the injured list — and he said it's "not looking good" — it will be a major loss for the Angels.

Rendon just hasn't been able to stay healthy at all over the last few seasons as he hasn't even been able to reach 60 games played in a season for the Angels. He is still owed $38 million a year for the next three seasons.

The Angels were hopeful that this year he would finally put the injuries behind him but fate has had other plans. Hopefully Rendon can come back soon from this and then actually stay on the field to help the team compete.
