Angels News: Anthony Rendon Reaffirms 'Love' for Halos
It’s been a very weird relationship between the Los Angeles Angels and third baseman Anthony Rendon since he agreed to join the team a few years ago. While he hasn’t contributed in the way that the organization had hoped when bringing him in, Rendon has continued to try and be positive.
He hasn’t played in more than 58 games in a year since he joined the Halos, much to the frustration of both parties. Rendon has dealt with numerous injuries that have limited his time on the field.
But this year has been the strangest yet. The veteran infielder has been criticized by multiple media members for how he has handled his recovery.
We haven’t heard much from Rendon, but he addressed the media on Friday regarding his injury. He said that he had been dealing with a fractured tibia, and wondered why the Angels hadn’t disclosed this information.
“Asked on Friday if it would have helped to have fans know what was going on sooner, he said: “They can keep assuming. I don’t care. They don’t know the facts. They can keep writing whatever they want, do what they want. They don’t know the full extent.”

It remains to be seen if Rendon will return this year, especially given where the Angels are in the standings, but he reaffirmed that he is happy being a member of the Angels.
“I love Anaheim,” he said. “I love the Angels. Every organization has their ups and downs. It’s nothing I haven’t been through (with the Washington Nationals).”

This sounds like someone who knows that he still has a few years left on his contract, so he is trying to make the best out of the situation. But maybe he really does like the organization, only Rendon himself truly knows the truth.
His agent Scott Boras seemed to back him up on his happiness with the team, giving his own comments.
Boras said: “I have no knowledge the relationship isn’t what it’s always been.”

This entire situation is just strange, and another in a long line of weird things happening within the Angels organization this season. It's going to be a long winter for this franchise at this point.
