Angels Rumors: Perry Minasian's Return Could Be 50/50, Phil Nevin Less Than That
As the season has gone on for the Los Angeles Angels, things have seemed to get more difficult than ever. With a little less than a month left to go in the year, the organization has a feeling that change will be coming soon.
Nobody knows what that change is going to be, but after a year like this, something needs to be done. With the Halos looking like they will once again miss the postseason, there is talk that manager Phil Nevin won’t return next season.
And now it seems that General Manager Perry Minisian may not be back as well. According to MLB insider Bob Nightengale of USA Today, both men could be looking for new jobs after the season ends.
“It’s a coin flip whether Minasian stays, but Nevin faces uphill odds considering he was given a reprieve last year only because the club was for sale.”
Per Bob Nightengale of USA Today
The Angels may be better off starting fresh. After all, they don’t even know what is going to happen with two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani, so starting over could be in their best interest.
Something isn’t working in the way that they operate each season, so it’s on owner Arte Moreno to make a move. However, he has shown over the years that even he doesn’t always make the right decisions.
This organization needs a complete overhaul, and this is the winter to do just that. They need to find a way to get themselves back into contention and stop this level of mediocrity that has plagued them for years.
They owe it to the fans that have supported them each season. This winter will tell us a lot about what the Angels are made of, and it’s going to be very interesting to watch all play out.
