WATCH: Matt Olson sends one into the Chop House to narrow the deficit to one
Matt Olson has had enough.
He was 0-3 on the night against Miami, and Atlanta was down by two runs to open the 8th inning, being held to only five hits.
He decided to make it just a little bit closer.
Olson sent a 1-1 pitch just over the right field wall, bouncing up into the Chop House, to narrow the deficit to one in the 8th inning. Here's the video:
Olson's caught some criticism this year for his strikeouts, including from me, but he's delivering when it counts. The homerun was his 7th of the year and, anecdotally, it feels like they either come early in games to give Atlanta the lead or late in games to narrow the deficit.
Atlanta finishes the series tomorrow at 12:20 ET, broadcast on Bally Sports South. The radio call, with Ben Ingram, is available locally on 680 AM/93.7 FM The Fan or outside the Atlanta market on the Atlanta Braves Radio Network or MLB.com.
