A growing trend in Major League Baseball is a team sponsorship with a company and allowing them to put their logo on the sleeve of the team's uniform.

Some examples of current teams who have partnerships are the San Diego Padres and Motorola, the Houston Astors and Oxy, and the Boston Red Sox and MassMutual.

It appears we are headed in a direction where every team has some sort of company logo on their jersey.

The Cleveland Guardians announced on Friday morning that they had reached an agreement with Ohio-based gasoline company, Marathon, to sponsor their uniforms through the 2026 season.

Looking through some of the comments under this Tweet, it's clear that Guardians fans aren't overly excited about the new addition to the jersey.

I have accepted that logos on uniforms is something that can't be stopped, even though I don't think they look great. At least the Guardians have a company with a similar color scheme which should hopefully make it look a little better.

Fans can get their first look at the new uniform on July 3.
