Mets' Carlos Carrasco Looks Solid in Rehab Start
He's getting close.
Mets pitcher Carlos Carrasco made a rehab start for Double-A Binghamton on Tuesday and looked solid.
Carrasco, who has been on the injured list with elbow inflammation since April 16, went a total of three innings in his rehab outing. The righty allowed one run on three hits, walked one and struck out one.
“Everything came out really good. All the breaking balls, especially the changeup," Carrasco said after his start. "I was looking for my delivery and I found it.”
However, Carrasco only threw 33 pitches, which means he will likely require another rehab start before rejoining the big-league rotation.
“I’m ready, but I’m not going to make that decision," Carrasco said. ""I’ll hear from them what’s the next step and we’ll go from there."
"I hate to be on the IL," he added. "I just want to get ready to get back there and help the team.”

Carrasco was supposed to make a rehab start over the weekend, but an illness pushed him back a few days.
The 36-year-old is 0-2 with a 8.56 ERA in three starts this season prior to landing on the shelf.
The Mets' rotation has been decimated by injuries this year, but they're about to get a bit healthier with Carrasco's return on the horizon.
