As the year winds down, the San Diego Padres have started to play some of their best baseball of the season. But unfortunately for them, they have also seen some injuries occur to key members of their team as well.

It’s just another frustrating occurrence in a long line of things from this season for this organization. They entered the year with lofty expectations to compete for a World Series, but find themselves on the outside looking in of the playoff picture with under two weeks to go in the season.

One of the players who has been dealing with an injury is shortstop Ha-Seong Kim. He is dealing with an abdominal issue that has sidelined him for the last few games.

Kim provided an update on his status, but it’s not what San Diego fans want to hear.

“Unfortunately I’m feeling not really good at this point,” Kim said.

Per The SD Union-Tribune

Kim has been one of the more stable players for the Padres all season long. He has stayed consistent with his game amid all of the struggles that this team has seen.

For the year, Kim is hitting .265 with 17 home runs and 58 runs batted in. His emergence this season has been great to see, and it bodes well going forward for this franchise.

It remains to be seen when Kim will return to game action, but the team likely wants to be cautious with the injury to avoid anything else happening. Especially given where the team is standings-wise, it makes sense to be careful with Kim.

“As of right now, it’s not a major thing from our medical staff, but I’m still feeling similar to the last few days,” Kim said through interpreter Leo Bae. “I’m still waiting for our medical staff’s opinion, and we’ll discuss it and go from there.”

Hopefully, Kim can heal up soon, and get back out there on the field with his teammates. They miss his presence in the lineup, and he surely wants to keep giving his all for this team.
