Snell pitched six innings, allowing 2 earned runs off of 3 hits while striking out 5 batters. Escaping the series against Baltimore with a 2-1 series record is a big win for the Padres as they face perhaps their toughest seven-game stretch in terms of playoff implications.

The Padres play a four-game series at home against the Diamondbacks, who are 3 games ahead of the Friars in the Wild Card, beginning Thursday night. Immediately following, they host the Marlins for a three-game series. The Marlins are 1.5 games ahead of the D-backs.
