The Cleveland Cavaliers are in a good position heading into the offseason. They have their All-Star start backcourt with Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell and then there's Evan Mobley who will look to take the year-three jump next season.

However, there are also obvious holes that need to be filled via free agency or trade. These three positions, in no particular order, should be where Cleveland looks to upgrade.

Backup Point Guard

The Cavs have one of the best backcourts in the Eastern Conference with Garland and Mitchell, but the guards on the bench could use some work. Ricky Rubio and Raul Neto were Cleveland's options to run the point with both starters off the floor.

Neto showed flashes of potential throughout the season but wasn't consistent enough to be a true option on a playoff team.

Rubio is one season into a three-year $18 million contract and missed the first half due to his ACL injury rehab. He averaged 5.2 points and 3.5 assists in 33 games for the Cavs which isn't horrible, but there's definitely room for more.

The hope is that Rubio can revert back to his 2021 version, but Cleveland should look to bring in another point guard just in case.

Starting Small Forward

One of the team's biggest needs is a starting small forward. Someone who can create their own shot and hold their own on defense. Unfortunately, every team would like another player such as this so the price won't be cheap.

Isaac Okoro, when healthy, was the team's go-to starting three toward the end of the season. Okoro's defense was elite yet again last season, but his size and offense left much to be desired for a starter.

Backup Center

The New York Knicks seriously exposed Cleveland's lack of size in their five-game series. Yes, Cleveland has Mobley and Jarrett Allen, but they had virtually no size off the bench that could check in and provide serviceable minutes.

The Cavs have already been rumored to have interest in two centers Mason Plumlee and Naz Reid.
