Donovan Mitchell To Serve As Vice President Of NBA Players Association
Donovan Mitchell has already accomplished a lot in his first five seasons in the NBA.
He's never missed the playoffs, is a four-time All-Star, an All-Star starter, and has established himself as the best shooting guard in the league. Now Mitchell has another achievement to add to his already impressive resume.
Mitchell will serve as one of the NBAPA's Vice Presidents for the next three years. Memphis Grizzlies Jaren Jackson Jr. will serve as VP for a three-year term as well. The President of the Association will be Grant Williams who will serve a four-year term for the first time in history.
The Cleveland Cavaliers have quickly gained the respect of Mitchell and his leadership in the locker room. This includes head coach J.B. Bickerstaff who has said in the past, "I would love for people to understand what kind of human being he is." Others are about to find out with Mitchell in this role.
Listen to what else Bickerstaff has to say here:
It clearly appears that this leadership and respect is felt by others around the league as they have voted him into this role for an extended period of time. Having someone with the respect of their colleagues in the locker room and in the city of Cleveland is nothing more than remarkable.
It makes cheering for Mitchell that much easier.
